Rob O'Leary has been an effective and independent State Senator representing Cape Cod and the Islands since his election in 2000. Prior to his election, Rob served as a Barnstable County Commissioner from 1987 through 2001, and is a college history teacher at the Massachusetts Maritime Academy.

Rob understands the issues and concerns unique to Cape Cod and the Islands because he is a Cape Codder: a resident of Barnstable, he has lived, worked, and raised his family on Cape Cod for over 30 years. Rob is an experienced leader who has been fighting for the residents of Cape Cod and the Islands for decades as a parent, educator, community activist, and as our State Senator.

Rob has been committed to improving the quality of life on Cape Cod for four decades. Rob continues his outstanding service to the Cape and Islands in many capacities:
